STAND campaign for DARFUR

We ask that all our members support the STAND campaign to press Congress to
pressure the President for Darfur. If you write a letter to your
representative, please bring them to our April 1 meeting and we will Fed Ex
them to DC so that they can be delivered on April 3. Alternatively you may
send them directly to the address below. Feel free to write our Senators as
well on this issue. And then call on April 3, Day 75 of the Obama
administration (or anytime in the coming week since the Reps will all be in
their home districts on April 6-17). If you are willing to try and set up a
lobby visit with your rep for April 6-17, please let me know and I will send
you info on how to do so. This will be a focus for us for the first half of
April.

review and do all he can to get the humanitarian aid groups back in Sudan

On Day 75 (APRIL 3), GW STAND will hand-deliver your letter to your members
of Congress that you wrote.

*2) Schedule a lobby meeting* with your member of Congress during April
6-17, the congressional recess. Click here to learn how to set up a lobby

the calendar (on STANDNOW site) for lobby training calls that will be
scheduled.

*On April 3rd:*

As your letter is being delivered, you can make a wake up call to congress.

*3) On April 3rd, Day 75, call your members of Congress*, tell them that
they will receive a hand-delivered letter, and ask that your member of
Congress write a letter to President Obama, asking him to end the policy
review on Sudan soon and do all he can to get the humanitarian aid groups
back in Sudan. Also, ask your member of Congress to do all that he or she
can to use their contacts with Arab and African nations and China to insist
that these countries press the Government of Sudan to restore aid.
